Spectrum on Film is a new curated film showcase created to celebrate and elevate emerging LGBTQIA+ filmmakersand the stories shaping the future of queer cinema.
Presented in partnership with Arzner Cinema — London’s only LGBTQIA+ cinema and the named cultural incubator for this series — alongside Evulve Productions, a female-owned creative production company, this event has been designed as more than a traditional screening.
Spectrum on Film is an intimate 48-seat cultural and industry-facing salon, bringing together filmmakers, creatives, cultural leaders and community audiences in a space dedicated to visibility, conversation and opportunity.
The evening will feature a carefully curated programme of short films from a selected cohort of emerging queer filmmakers, chosen through an open call led in collaboration with Evulve Productions.
Each selected filmmaker will be paid for their work, reinforcing Spectrum’s commitment to building ethical and sustainable creative infrastructure for LGBTQIA+ talent.
Following the screening, guests will be invited to stay for a live panel discussion and community conversation, offering insight into the creative process, lived experiences and future ambitions of the featured filmmakers.
The evening will then transition into a curated networking space, designed to foster connection between emerging creatives, industry professionals and cultural stakeholders.
This is a platform created not only to showcase talent, but to help build meaningful pathways for the next generation of queer storytellers.
Spectrum on Film sits within Spectrum’s wider mission as a profit-for-purpose cultural syndicate, operating across advocacy, community wellness, creative empowerment and education.
This first edition marks the beginning of a recurring series dedicated to expanding access, visibility and representation within queer cinema.
